Celebrate the spirit of Oktoberfest while learning two timeless ballroom favorites—the lively Polka and the elegant Waltz!
EPRD's Active Adult Programs is excited to announce a series of Oktoberfest-themed dances taught by the talented and renowned instructor Melissa Trader! Whether you're brand new to dance or looking to get your feet moving again, these classes are designed with you in mind-fun, low pressure, and all of the classic Oktoberfest vibes you could dream of!
Join us as we discover the rhythms and movement of the Polka and the Waltz. Both styles of dance accompany the traditional German music played at Oktoberfest! This class will begin with a gentle warm-up and stretch, followed by solo and partner dance moves. At the conclusion of the class series, we invite participants to don their lederhosen and join us at the Evergreen Oktoberfest Celebration on Sept. 19th.
For all participants, please wear comfortable clothes that are fun and easy to dance in. Shoes with a suede or leather sole are best but ked style boat shoes will work as well. And as always, please bring water and personal refreshments to stay hydrated!
Participants of all ages and experience are welcome! Registration is required to attend each of these events individually (series of 3 classes, registration for each event). Each session will take place at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center in the Bergen Peak Room and will take place from 11:30AM-1:00PM on their specific dates (Sept. 3, 10, 17th).
