Ready to tackle rockier climbs, steeper features, and add more flow to your ride? This women-only clinic builds on the intermediate skills from 201 and helps you to refine those foundations to tackle steeper and more technical trail sections with support and feedback.
You’ll learn: - How to navigate rock gardens and combined technical features - Different wheel lift techniques for managing larger uphill obstacles and ledges - Uphill line choice and using body position on loose, rocky terrain - An introduction to “dropping” downhill features, rather than rolling them - How to pump through rolly trail features for flow and efficiency - The basics of jumping - to start adding some air time and more fun to your ride!
Prerequisite: This class is ideal if you’ve taken 201 or are already comfortable on blue trails where you’re clearing many of the smaller technical features. You should be familiar with moving your body with the bike to manage steeper uphill and downhill terrain. You’re curious about black trails, but still walk a lot of the trickier technical parts. You’re riding and clearing almost all the features on Elk Meadow, Green Mountain and North Table. You enjoy riding 3 Sisters and Lair O the Bear/Rutabega and can clear most things, but know that you want to tackle some of the more challenging rock features and gain speed/air.
Required Equipment: A well-maintained mountain bike with flat or clipless pedals, front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, a suspension fork, and a dropper post is required. Helmets are mandatory; gloves and eye protection are strongly encouraged. Bring water, snacks, and anything else you need to feel comfortable on the trail.
This class will meet at the Wulf Rec Center parking lot near tennis courts.
