Description
Dive headfirst into the Christmas Spirit with EPRD’s Active Adults Program on Santa’s Lighted Forest Train Ride!
Join Georgetown Railroad for the evening holiday light train and a visit from Old Saint Nick himself, with even MORE lights and sights than ever before! Santa will be joining every departure to begin checking his list (he’s still not taking bribes, I asked).
EPRD will be providing transportation from BPRC, up to Georgetown, and back to BPRC once the trip has finished. Hot Chocolate and snacks for the ride will be provided by EPRD as well!
Please Note: This event is considered LIGHT in terms of difficulty. The train station is a fully paved, ADA accessible location, and we have reserved several Wheelchair spots on the train itself as well. However, all attendees must be able to mobilize themselves, whether by mechanical assistance (wheelchair, walker, cane, mobility aid) or on their own without assistance from EPRD staff.
We have VERY LIMITED spots for those using wheelchairs, if you would like to reserve one of these spots for Wheelchair access, you must reach out to Nick Braden (AA Program Coordinator) to confirm that reservation.
Georgetown Railroad Information:
2025 Winter Holiday Trains - Georgetown Loop Railroad
Event Schedule:
- All Attendees should arrive at the BPRC and be ready to travel at 4:35PM (this gives us time to warm up with hot coffee and have time for restroom usage before leaving).
- We will load up and depart by 5:00PM, arriving at the Georgetown Railroad station around 6:00PM. Our train leaves sharply at 6:30PM, this gives us plenty of time to refresh or check out the gift shop before our train departs.
- EPRD Staff will stay with the group and help take pictures and assist in any manner necessary for the entirety of the train ride. We will stay as a group throughout the entire event.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own funding for snacks, purchases at the gift shop, etc.
- We will be leaving Georgetown from the Railroad at the conclusion of the train ride around 7:45 PM. All participants will be dropped off at the BPRC no later than 8:30PM that evening. Please have all transportation plans for after the event ready prior to our departure from BPRC.
All participants must sign and submit EPRD’s Waiver in order to attend. For any questions or concerns, please contact Nick Braden at nbraden@eprdco.gov.
We hope to see you there!
