Luck of the Irish: Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

Get ready to paint the town green! Join EPRD's Active Adult Programs for a festive day trip to Denver to experience the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade, one of the city’s biggest and most colorful celebrations of Irish heritage and springtime fun.

We’ll head into Denver for a day filled with marching bands, colorful floats, Irish dancers, bagpipers, festive costumes, classic cars, and plenty of St. Patrick’s Day spirit! Whether you’re Irish by blood or just Irish for the day, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Please Note: This event is considered MEDIUM in terms of difficulty. The Parade will be taking place in downtown Denver, with most of the areas being paved but no guarantees of how easy or clean that pavement may be to access. Most of downtown Denver boasts themselves as an ADA accessible location though. All attendees must be able to mobilize themselves, whether by mechanical assistance (wheelchair, walker, cane, mobility aid) or on their own without assistance from EPRD staff. There will be a good bit of walking involved in this outing. We have VERY LIMITED spots for those using wheelchairs, if you would like to reserve one of these spots for Wheelchair access, you must reach out to Nick Braden (AA Program Coordinator) to confirm that reservation.

We will begin our day by meeting at the Bristlecone Lounge at Buchanan Park Recreation Center in Evergreen at 8:00am, then heading down to Denver on the bus to grab a spot to watch the Parade from the street! Each Reservation includes transportation to and from Denver and time to enjoy the parade and surrounding festivities. Space is limited, so don’t wait—this is one senior trip you’ll feel lucky to have joined!

A few things to keep in mind:

• All attendees must provide their own chairs if they wish to sit during any part of the parade, EPRD does not have supplies for these. A folding Camping chair works perfectly, we are happy to transport those on the bus for you!
• Coffee, Food, Drinks, Snacks, Souvenirs, etc. will be available for everyone to purchase during the Parade, please feel free to purchase those at your leisure! EPRD will be providing light refreshments during the bus ride down there and back.
• The Parade gets VERY LOUD, please feel free to bring earmuffs, noise reducing headphones, or ear plugs if you would like!
• Get Festive with us! EPRD highly recommends dressing up in your most outrageous, festive, and green attire with all of us! (We certainly will be!)
• At the conclusion of the Parade, we will load back up on our bus and head back to Evergreen, and will drop everyone back off at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center.

Grab your green, bring your best parade-watching spirit, and come enjoy a day of laughter, music, and good company with fellow active adults. It’s the perfect excuse to get out, celebrate the season, and maybe find a little extra luck along the way! So put on your green and join us for a shamrockin’ good time!
