Try your hand at kayaking with our highly trained instructors! Learn paddling techniques, safety and gear selection. This an American Canoe Association-certified instructional program. This class can meet the Paddling Basics requirement for HCRP Float trips. Class is part of the Encore Adventure Series. No experience necessary; all equipment supplied for use during the program. Encore Adventures are your opportunity to dabble in a variety of outdoor skills! Try your hand at paddling a kayak, learn the basics of archery, get a grip on our indoor rock climbing wall and much more. Earn a certificate and patch for completing at least five Encore Adventure activities within a two-year period.
Detailed info will be emailed about a week prior to the program start. No experience necessary and all equipment provided for use during the program; paddlers may bring their own boat and/or life jacket pending approval by instructor. Minimal swimming ability required – we do not intentionally capsize the boats but kayaks can and do flip over. Life jackets are provided and required during the class.

You do NOT have to wait to sign up for a River Kayak/Float trip but you must physically complete this class BEFORE the date of your trip.
