Enjoy a guided canoe or kayak trip around Centennial Lake with a naturalist from the Robinson Nature Center. Learn about the wildlife and diverse flora that make the park their home. Encore Adventures are your opportunity to dabble in a variety of outdoor skills! Try your hand at paddling a kayak, learn the basics of archery, get a grip on our indoor rock climbing wall and much more. Earn a certificate and patch for completing at least five Encore Adventure activities within a two-year period.
Detailed info will be emailed about a week prior to the program start. No experience necessary and all equipment provided for use during the program; paddlers may bring their own boat and/or life jacket pending approval by instructor. Minimal swimming ability required – we do not intentionally capsize the boats but kayaks can and do flip over. Life jackets are provided and required during the class.
This program does not meet the Paddling Basics requirement for HCRP Float trips. Prior completion of an HCRP Paddling Basics class is not required, but you must be able to independently paddle a canoe or kayak to participate. Canoes are two or three person boats and kayaks are single or double – registration is per person; you can choose which boat when you arrive at the program.
