Christmas in Ecuador: Amazon Village Adventure is a 9-day, 8-night immersive family and student journey through Ecuador, combining science, nature, cultural exchange, adventure, and experiential learning. Designed as an active “living classroom,” participants explore Ecuador through observation, hands-on activities, cultural encounters, service learning, and guided outdoor experiences. The adventure begins in Quito, with exploration of the historic center before traveling through Baños and into the Amazon rainforest at Kapawi Ecolodge. Participants experience rainforest ecology, wildlife observation, hiking, kayaking, and opportunities to learn directly from Achuar guides about medicinal plants, traditional knowledge, community life, food, and culture. The journey continues into Ecuador's Andean communities for service learning and cultural exchange, including traditional agricultural and textile practices, llama care, Indigenous community experiences, and shared traditional meals. The final day includes Cotopaxi National Park, an amphibian science and conservation experience at Wikiri Sapo Parque, and an Ecuadorian cooking class and farewell dinner before returning to Quito International Airport.
