Description

Ballet Technique classes are the foundation for training and focus on developing a solid ballet technique with emphasis on understanding correct body placement, proper use of turn out, coordination of the upper body (epaulement), and use of arms (port de bras). Students cannot buy or wear pointe shoes unless they have been invited to do so by the instructor.Dress Code: Girls/Women should wear dance tights, leotard, and ballet shoes. Long hair should be in a ballet bun or at minimum all hair should be in a ponytail or braided. Boys/Men should wear dance tights or dance pants, a dance top or athletic top (preferably no graphics or writing) and ballet shoes. If hair is long enough it should be pulled back out of the face and off the neck. If boys/men wear boys dance tights than they must also wear a men’s dance belt. Gender Neutral dance wear is acceptable if it is dance or athletic wear that is close to the body for the teacher to be able to see and correct body lines and alignment (preferably no graphics or writing). If hair is long enough it should all be pulled back away from face and off the neck. For All Dancers, Warmups are acceptable but might be asked to be removed to see body lines and alignment.
