NO CLASS ON JUNE 19, 2025 Comprehension is a critical skill for students in Grades 2–5, as it allows them to make sense of what they read, think critically about information, and apply their knowledge across all subjects. At this stage in their education, students move from "learning to read" to "reading to learn," making strong comprehension skills essential for academic success. When students understand what they read, they become more confident learners, better problem-solvers, and more effective communicators. Comprehension also supports stronger writing, faster reading, and greater engagement with texts, all of which contribute to long-term achievement in school and beyond.
