About this event
The intersection where science and art meet - nature journaling. Learn how people for centuries have observed and connected with nature, while keeping a journal of your own. A place where mindfulness leads our observations, and art records them. In this class, we will learn how to set up a nature journal, how to identify local flora and fauna, as well as record and understand our ecosystems as the seasons change. Please bring your nature journal, pens, pencils or any art medium you enjoy. Aoife Cahill’s love for the natural world started with following her dad through the woods as a child. It always fascinated her how he could tell the trees apart and read the landscape. From there, she dedicated her education to wildlife and environmental science. Her career followed a similar path, from being a zookeeper to a local life science teacher. She is currently working on her Maine Master Naturalist Certification. The Maine Master Naturalist program trains people to become volunteer naturalists to make the natural world in Maine more accessible for all. Art and crafting are her other passions, so she strives to create educational opportunities that combine science with art. She looks forward to teaching classes here at PVAEC. This FREE class is offered thanks to Aoife Cahill and the Maine Master Naturalist Program. Class meets Tuesdays 9/8, 10/6, 11/3, 12/8 6-8pm D-F Mill
