Begin your high-alpine adventure at Echo Lake Park (10,600 ft.) on a scenic hike to the beautiful Chicago Lakes, passing the historic Idaho Springs Reservoir along the way. This challenging trail climbs through rugged mountain terrain with sweeping views of alpine forests, granite peaks, and cascading streams. At the lakes, hikers are rewarded with crystal-clear alpine scenery and a true taste of Colorado’s high-country beauty. Intermediate level is meant to indicate that we will be focused on exploring the full trail length and will keep a faster pace than our non-intermediate programs. Distance: 9.3 miles. Elevation Gain: 2,155 ft. Transportation provided.

CANCELLATIONS: If Outdoor Recreation cancels the trip due to inclement weather, lack of participants, or any other unforeseen circumstances, the participants will receive a full REFUND.
REFUNDS: 15 DAYS IN ADVANCE: If a participant cancels the registration 15 days in advance, a full REFUND will be given. LESS THAN 15 DAYS IN ADVANCE: If a participant cancels registration less than 15 days in advance, NO CREDIT OR REFUND will be given.
APPEAL: If a participant experiences a serious illness or loss that prevents their attendance that requires special consideration, an appeal can be submitted to the Coordinator of Outdoor Recreation for review.
