This Online Blended Lifeguard Course will teach you the proper skills, how to recognize a water emergency, as well as basic First Aid and CPR for the professional rescuer. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will become American Red Cross certified in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer for 2 years.
Prerequisite: A swim assessment is required. Please schedule a swim assessment here.
Swim Assessment:
- Be able to swim 150 yards continuously using either freestyle or breaststroke, tread for 2 minutes without using their arms, and swim an additional 50 yards using freestyle or breaststroke
- Swim 20 yards, surface dive to depth of 7-10 ft, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without the use of the ladder or steps within 1 minute, and 40 seconds.
Please bring the following items: towel, bathing suit, lunch, paper, something to write with and class manual (which will be emailed). Optional: Laptop (course material will be available online).
Advanced registration is required. This course includes online class work that must be completed before the first day of the in-person portion of the class (April 6, 2026). The online portion will be emailed out on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Resuscitation masks and gloves will be provided to each student.
