Pre-requisite: Previous weaving experience / basket weaving class taught by Nancy Kochli.
The Gardener's Field Basket is back, by request!! EXPERIENCED weavers will enjoy the challenge of weaving this sturdy gardening basket. The finished basket will measure approximately 12" high and 15" wide. The round base of this basket is twined, and the rest of the basket is woven entirely of sturdy flat oval reed, making it extra strong. This is a beautiful basket that will serve participants in the garden and in the home. Please, no beginners.

We will work through lunch so everyone will leave with a completed basket. Be sure to bring lunch, snacks, and drinks.
Materials to weave the basket will be provided but you must bring some tools with you to class.
Supply List for Basket Classes
Please Note: It is not necessary for participants to purchase a lot ofmaterials before class. Most of these items are easily found around the house.
• 2.5 (10 qt.) bucket or 5 gallon bucket• Small spray bottle with water• 2 old towels, bath size or smaller• Utility scissors or gardening shears• Tape measure/ruler• Pencil• 3-5 bags of dried beans or corn hole bags, something to use as weights to hold reeds in place or if you want to purchase a “spoke weight” to hold your base in place at the beginning• Clothespins• A blunt awl or stubby type (short) flat head screwdriver. (Instructor recommends Weave Rite HEAVY DUTY basket weaving awls)• 10-12 Heavy Duty clamps or 4” zip ties
Nancy will have heavy duty awls and clamps available for purchase ifparticipants would like to try them first.
