George Washington & Indian Diplomacy, 1754In the Fort Necessity military campaign to gain control of the Forks of the Ohio from the French prior to the French & Indian War, Washington needed manpower, particularly Native American Allies. This program describes Washington’s attempts to gain Indian allies before and after his victory over the French at Jumonville Glen in May of 1754; and why he failed.
