Description
Ever wonder how wildland firefighters tackle fast-moving grass fires? Spend time with a Certified Wildland Firefighter at Prairie Gateway Open Space (PGOS) for a blazing good time. Engross yourself in the tools, equipment, and techniques used in the field and what you can do to help prevent grass fires in your community. Children 10-14 must be accompanied by an adult.Meet at the South parking lot. The nearest address is 6350 Gateway Road. Turn on to Gateway Road from Prairie Parkway and drive 0.3 miles. Look for the parking area and the restroom on the left after the bend in the road. If you enter the Arsenal, you have gone too far. Please bring water, hat, sunblock, snacks and close-toed shoes.
