In this two-week ceramic slab-built lantern workshop, you'll design and create a one-of-a-kind lantern while building confidence with handbuilding techniques. We'll start by exploring ideas, sketching designs, and planning how your lantern will come together. You'll learn how to roll and construct slabs, create clean joints, and experiment with carved and cutout patterns that bring your piece to life when illuminated. Whether you're new to clay or have some experience, this workshop offers a relaxed, creative space to learn new skills, solve design challenges, and enjoy the process of making something both beautiful and practical. After week 2, you will select a glaze from our in-house glaze colors and we will dip it professionally so it comes out looking great!
