Why come to Nature Forward’s 2-Day Girl Scout Journey event? • Dive deep into nature with other scouts and environment experts • Experience a girl-driven process towards environmental solutions • Complete a prerequisite towards and get inspiration for your GS Higher Awards Senior/Ambassador - Justice Journey (grades 9-12) Join forces with other Senior & Ambassador* scouts to promote environmental justice! Day 1 - Identify environmental issues, explore how they arise, examine different perspectives in current controversies, and begin to create your own vision for change. Explore outdoors at Woodend to observe conservation and restoration efforts. Tap into Nature Forward’s resources to learn how environmental scientists gather and use data, to interview an environmental justice advocate, and to map out how environmental decisions affect our local communities. Day 2 - Create inspirational works that express your vision for justice. Explore tangible actions you can take towards environmental justice for all. Then team up to present and share a vision of environmental justice. This experience will foster girl-led action, communication and leadership skills, and team-building. *Both Seniors and Ambassadors can register and earn this Ambassador-level Journey. Scouts will be dropped off to attend the full day at Woodend, bringing their own snack, lunch, water, and weather-appropriate clothing.
