In the Get Moving! Journey, Juniors learn about various forms of energy and find out what it means to be energy efficient. They will take a nature walk to observe animals using energy in their natural settings, conduct an energy audit, experiment to see how light bulbs can conserve energy, and make an energy pledge to reduce their energy use. Then they will team up and take on an energy issue in the community. Nature Forward is offering Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors a fun and productive day investigating a nature-themed Girl Scout Journey! All requirements for the Journey will be completed, including a Take-Action project that benefits local natural habitats, and may be adapted to continue service in scouts’ own communities. (GS Journey Patches not provided.) Scouts will be dropped off to attend the full day at Woodend, bringing their own snack, lunch, water, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and weather-appropriate clothing. Girls will be grouped by scout level (Daisy/Brownie/Junior) as Nature Forward naturalists lead the scouts through engaging activities, games, and hikes to complete their Journey.
