Orientation Session - Tuesday, March 17th at 6:00 p.m. (be prepared to attend until 8:00 p.m.)Cost: Free (includes materials and training certification fees)
This course is to help prepare you for a job as a ParaProfessional (Instructional Assistant). This is a high demand job in Chesterfield County Public Schools and surrounding school systems.
This course will consist of three parts;1) Preparing to become a ParaProfessional.2) Preparing for the ParaPro Exam (if needed).3) Obtaining First Aid/CPR/AED certification (if needed).
Classes will be a combination of in-person and virtual instruction.
All students will need to attend class on Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to complete Part 1 of the program. Part 2 will consist of online training and tutoring to prepare for the ParaPro exam. Students required to pass the ParaPro exam will be partnered with a tutor for assistance for this portion. Part 3 will be completing online First Aid certification and an in-person CPR/AED training. The date for this training TBD.
