Prerequisite: successful completion of Medical Assistant I with CCPS Adult Continuing Education.This is the second part of a two-semester class. Medical assistants are multiskilled health professionals who perform a wide range of roles in physician offices, clinics and other health care settings. They are proficient in a multitude of administrative and clinical tasks. Medical assistants are widely employed as vital members of the health care delivery team. This class includes anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical law and ethics, medical insurance and coding, pharmacology, and medical office procedures. There is a 160-hour externship requirement. A TB test is required for the externship (fee not included). After successfully completing this course, students qualify to take the certifying exam. Testing fee and First Aid Certification is not included in cost.
