Prerequisite: successful completion of Dental Assistant I with CCPS Adult Continuing Education.
This is the second part of a two-semester course designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in dental assisting. Students will learn to perform the work of an assistant in a modern practice, functioning within the guidelines and regulations in the Dental Practice Act of Virginia. It is each student's responsibility to obtain the necessary certificates in CPR and radiation safety required by the Virginia Board of Dentistry. After successfully completing this course, students qualify to take the certifying exam. Testing fee not included. High school diploma or equivalency required. Students must furnish safety glasses.
