Curious about ducks? Observe the unique habits of migratory waterfowl of winter at the tidal wetlands in Dutch Gap Conservation Area with an educator on this midwinter hike. Stop at our observation decks to view birds such as gadwall, pintail, ruddy and ringneck ducks. Bring your own binoculars and bird identification booklets -- limited pairs of binoculars will be available for use.


Program Information:
  • Program is held outdoors.
  • Guardians are required to accompany participants, no drop-offs.
  • Hiking footwear is required.
  • Distance traveled will be between 1 and 3 miles.
  • Outdoor surfaces traveled on in this program include gravel and dirt trails with roots and uneven surfaces, steep hills
  • This program includes visual and auditory elements
