About this event
This six week summer math program is designed to strengthen students' foundational skills, build confidence, and prepare middle school students for success in the upcoming academic year. The primary goal of the program is to reinforce key mathematical concepts while also developing critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a positive attitude toward math. Throughout the program, students will review and deepen their understanding of crucial middle school topics, including operations with fractions, decimals, and integers, ratios and proportional reasoning, percentages, and basic algebraic expressions and equations. We will also aim to place some additional focus on geometry concepts such as area, perimeter, and volume. Instruction will combine direct teaching, guided practice, and interactive activities to support a range of learning styles. Students will engage in real-world problem-solving tasks, collaborative exercises, and regular skill assessments to track progress. By the end of the program, students will have improved fluency in essential math skills and be better equipped for more advanced mathematical learning.
