Fabulous Fungi
Have you ever come across a patch of mushrooms that seemingly sprung out of the ground overnight? Have you ever stopped to admire the fascinating structure and color of these organisms and wondered what exactly they were, and how they got there? If so, you should join us for an exploration of the fabulous fungi we have around our area at Northwest River Park, where we will show you how to identify several different types, take you on a guided exploration along our trails to see what’s around, and teach you how to make spore prints at home.
Note: This will not be a program about how to forage mushrooms that are safe to eat.

Please wear appropriate clothes and footwear for a hike along our trails. It's recommended to bring bug spray and drinking water.

Location

At Northwest River Park, park all vehicles in Parking Lot 1 and meet in the shelter next to the Welcome Center.
