For Rising Kindergarten - 8th Grade Scholars Youth Opportunity University (Y.O.U.) is a 7-week summer enrichment experience designed to inspire, engage, and equip scholars through academic, artistic, and faith-based learning. Each week features dynamic activities including field trips, Bible study, daily devotion, swimming, and enrichment sessions in dance, culinary arts, mindfulness, science, physical education, and visual arts. We will continue our focus on the Beatitudes, Fruit of the Spirit, and African American Studies, along with unpacking the Growth Mindset model to encourage perseverance, reflection, and self-awareness. Scholars will participate in hands-on learning focused on key academic standards in math, language arts, and writing, supported by regular assessments and personalized instruction. The total cost for Y.O.U. (Grades K–5 = $2,400; Grades 6-7 = $2,550; and Grade 8 = $2,600), which includes a $150 nonrefundable registration fee. Tuition covers two program shirts, a book, swimming lessons, select field trips, a culinary experience with our chef, and other instructional materials. Grades 6-7 will have a Y.O.U. end of program social as a capstone experience to their etiquette classes. Scholars in grade 8 will participate in the 8th Grade Academy with a focus on visiting local businesses, colleges and universities. Enrollment is limited and fills quickly. Once classes reach capacity, a waitlist will open on a first-come, first-served basis. Families on the waitlist will receive a full refund if a space does not become available.
