The game of chess is a proven memory enhancer! Whether you're new to the game, need additional coaching, or are a long-time enthusiast, this class will help you learn, grow and engage with others in an educational and fun way.

Instructor and Metro-Area Chess Club Director, Pat Lavone, works with both beginners and experienced players during these 2-hour sessions over an 8-week period. Beginners start with lessons, chess puzzles, and game play to learn the game in real time. Experienced players engage in directed tournament play, strategy study points, and chess puzzles to enhance their skills. Each student will receive insights, instruction, laughter, and a love for the game from Pat and his many years of experience. Following the class, participants are encouraged to continue to play at the Senior Center to build stronger skills and connections with other chess enthusiasts.
