Join skilled storytellers for a cup of coffee and candid conversation that entertains, educates, and encourages a sense of wonder about science and the natural world around us. This speaker series hosts guest lecturers and light refreshments. The Phoenix Zoo joins us to talk about its conservation efforts for some of its local animals-- crocodiles! Yasmine Gaudin and Ben Brose, who are involved in youth education and program facilitation, traveled to Central America to the Crocodile Research Coalition. They will share their story how they participated in educational community outreach, curriculum development, beach clean-ups, biodiversity surveys, field research, and data collection. They also learned about husbandry of American and Morelet's crocodiles, and animal rescues of wildlife in Placencia, Belize and its surrounding communities. They will share how this experience will impact their conservation efforts at the Phoenix Zoo, and how caring for animals at our local Zoo connects on a global scale.
