Carson Victory Rollers
Roller Derby
Roller derby is a full contact sport played on roller skates. Two packs of five members roller skate in a series of mini-match ups (jams) in which both teams designate a scoring player (the jammer), who scores points by lapping members of the opposing team. CVR trains USARS and WFTDA rulesets so you can find the best fit for your skill set!
Adult League Program:
The Carson Victory Rollers is a player-owned & operated non-profit team that works to facilitate an environment where all genders, 18 & over, and of all athletic abilities can participate in both a fun and empowering environment. All participants will be required to complete a 6-week Roller Derby Training Camp where they will build endurance and strength while learning terminology, rules, and safety. No skating experience necessary, the first three weeks are OFF skates! Upon completion, members will have the option to join on-skate practices where they will learn how to skate, fall, and build minimum skills while learning how to perform safely on roller skates. Members will be required to pass a minimum skills test to participate in games and scrimmages.
All members will be responsible for providing their own gear by the end of the 6-week Roller Derby Training Camp as well as purchasing USARS skater insurance to participate in games.

Official/Non-Skating Official Program Description
This program is looking for officials & non-skating officials (NSO). Officials call penalties and keep the game running smoothly. Each skating official will be trained in how to skate, fall, and build minimum skills while learning how to perform safely on roller/inline skates. Non-skating officials are those who perform non-skating duties such as penalty tracking, score tracking, and penalty timing. Both officials and NSO’s will participate in a rules training course where they will learn the rules of the game. Officials will be taught how to recognize and call penalties and NSO’s will be trained in how to properly time and track both points and penalties.
