About this event
Adapted from a collegiate-level business course, this highly interactive class teaches students how to communicate ideas clearly, persuasively, and confidently. Through structured role-play and case scenarios, students learn how to pitch ideas, present under pressure, and negotiate outcomes in real-world situations. Students are assigned roles, given time to prepare strategies, and taught specific techniques they can apply during negotiations and presentations. The course blends business, psychology, and strategy—helping students understand leverage, persuasion, and decision-making. Scenarios are real-world negotiation challenges drawn from business, media, and everyday life. Some examples include used car negotiations, startup pitches, athlete contract negotiation, construction development, and sponsorship deals. This course is taught by Rachel Farris, a Forbes recognized Top 200 CPA, entrepreneur, and CEO who regularly negotiates, presents, and advises at the executive level. Her experience brings authenticity and depth to the course, giving students tools they can immediately apply in school, leadership roles, and beyond. Students enrolled or considering enrolling in the Upper School Academies Programs (Civic Leadership, Service Learning, or Global Engagement) may want to participate in this camp to further their knowledge in their field of interest. See the link to the Academies page on the PRS website.
