Based on the 1968 film, The Producers follows shady producer Max Bialystock and timid accountant Leo Bloom as they plot to get rich by staging a guaranteed flop. They over-fund a disastrous musical about Hitler, intending to pocket the excess capital after it fails; however, their plan backfires when the show unexpectedly becomes a massive hit, landing them both in jail.
