Description

MRU High Performance Series: Train With Champions

Get Ready for the Outdoor Season.

The MRU Men’s Soccer Program invites ambitious players to our annual High Performance Series—a focused, high-intensity training environment designed to prepare serious athletes for the transition to the outdoor season (7v7, 9v9, and 11v11).
This is not a recreational camp. This is preparation with purpose.

THE MRU ADVANTAGE: WHAT SEPARATES US

Sessions are led by UEFA A Licensed coaches who lead our varsity program.
  • Train with Champions: You won’t just be watched by players; you will train alongside the MRU Cougars varsity team. Work with the reigning Canada West Champions and a Top 5 nationally ranked program.
  • This unique training environment allows athletes to experience the standards, intensity, and expectations of a nationally competitive U SPORTS program.
  • Learn Skills from Those Who Have Them: Experience firsthand the habits, technical precision, and competitive intensity of the best collegiate athletes in the country. If you want to play at the next level, you need to train at the next level.
  • Players will gain firsthand insight into the MRU playing philosophy, training methods, and team culture while being evaluated by our coaching staff and attending post-secondary coaches.

POSITION-SPECIFIC DEVELOPMENT

Each day begins with the same role-based development our varsity players receive. For the first hour, athletes are grouped by their primary position for specialized tactical and technical work:
  • Defenders: 1v1 positioning, aerial dominance, and building under pressure.
  • Midfielders: Scanning, tempo control, and transitional awareness.
  • Forwards: Finishing variety, timing of movement, and creating separation.
  • Wide Players: Isolation 1v1s, crossing quality, and final-third execution.
  • Goalkeepers: High-repetition, game-realistic shot-stopping and decision-making.
Note: Older age groups will receive further refined breakdowns (e.g., CB vs. FB, Holding vs. Attacking Mid) to ensure tactical relevance to their specific role.

CAMP FEATURES & SCHEDULE

  • Daily Sports Performance Station: Speed mechanics, acceleration, and injury prevention tailored for the outdoor game.
  • Varsity Standards: High-intensity training, tactical clarity, and professional accountability.
  • Game-Based Evaluations: Live match play to apply position-specific skills.
