About Joanna: Joanna taught basket weaving through our adult ed program for about twelve years and went on to teach chair caning when an interest developed. This class has developed over time into splint seat weaving, rush seating, and even Shaker tape seat weaving. Joanna also is a weaver of textiles and believes that the weaving of chair seats is an extension basket weaving, but with many interesting differences. She enjoys teaching a new and useful skill and working with her hands.
