About this event
Acrylic as a medium is broad and deep. It is much more than a substitute for oils. The ultimate chameleon, acrylics offer an enormous range of artistic outcomes beyond traditional painting. This class will introduce you to the complete range of acrylic paints, mediums and techniques. Learn how to select the right product for what you would like to achieve and the difference between the forms of pigments such as solid body and fluid. Understand what an acrylic medium is and how it can be used to increase transparency, create glazes, textures, distress a surface, adhere objects, create sheen and more. We will focus on the creation of a variety of sample boards to gain understanding of the medium. Simple techniques like glazing, underpainting and more will be covered. Access to a broad range of samples will be provided to enhance learning. Supply list will be sent to all participants once we know class will run.
