About this event
DATES: Oct 3, 4 Instructor: Erina Schultz Katazome is a Japanese resist dyeing using rice past. Students will learn to make a cut-paper stencil, makea traditional rice resist paste, print/paint with paste resist, and finally dye the work created. Students will also explore the basics of stencil design for repeat patterns or single design motifs. -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. Weekend Intensive students have access to Open Studio time for free during the class and for up to a week after the class to put their new knowledge to practice.
