Dates: Feb 21, 28 Instructor: Leo Pontius Description: In this class students will explore ice dyeing, a technique that uses ice and fiber reactive (procion) dye to create beautiful flowing textures and dynamic color splits. A great class for beginners and experienced dyers alike, we will cover the fundamentals of ice dyeing as well as how to combine ice dyeing with direct application techniques for a myriad of results. Cotton fabric will be provided for experimentation, but please feel free to bring light colored cotton fabric to use as well! -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. 2 Week students have access to Open Studio time for free during the class and for up to a week after the class to put their new knowledge to practice.
