DATES: Jul 20 Instructor: Marta Nowak Class Description: In this class, students will learn introductory machine knitting techniques to create their own scrunchie. Students will work into basic components of how to cast on, use punch card, perform stitch transfers, use waste yarn/ravel cord, and casting off. We will also review how to sew using mattress stitch. This course is beginner friendly, though prior machine knitting experience is preferred. Students will walk away with a basic foundational knowledge of machine knitting on a single bed machine and their own scrunchie! -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. This One Day Intensive Machine Knitting session comes with 1 week Open Studio Access.
