About this event
Dates: April 28 Instructor: Jules Kowalski In this class students will dive deep into the world of darning, a mending technique that creates new fabric as we mend! We will begin with a simple woven darn and discuss advanced variations on this woven structure such as twills, houndstooth, and color blocks before moving on to more specialized techniques such as Scotch Darning and duplicate stitch (also known as Swiss Darning). Both decorative and practical elements of darning will be addressed in this class! Students are encouraged to bring garments or samples in need of darning. The After Workshops are a series of high quality hands-on classes, at low cost and low commitment. Materials, skills and fun supplied. -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime!
