About this event
Grade level: Designed for teachers in grades 3-8. All educators are welcome. African Wild Dogs, Mexican Wolves, Lions, Amur Tigers and Leopards . . . It’s raining cats and dogs at Brookfield Zoo Chicago! Explore the unique physical characteristics, behavioral adaptations, and ecological role of these amazing predators while practicing strategies to ignite inquiry and critical thinking in your classroom. Gain practical tools and resources to spark interest, fuel questions to drive learning, and engage your students in analytical thinking. Discover ways to enrich onsite visits for your students as they discover Regenstein Wolf Woods and other dynamic habitats at the Zoo. Engage your students in hands-on learning to increase awareness about how global conservation challenges, such as habitat loss and climate change, impact wild cats and dogs throughout the world and in our own ecosystem. Inspire your students to engage in conservation action! Class content and strategies are informed by Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and the Danielson Framework. 5 ISBE professional development hours are available upon completion. (IEIN number required)
