About this event
Barr Lake Banding Station Migration is a magical time of year! Join us for a unique opportunity to experience science in action and observe a wildlife biologist banding and collecting important scientific data on live, migrating birds. The data collected gives us insight to many aspects of avian life history and can be used to inform conservation decisions. All banding, marking, and sampling is being conducted under a federally authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the U.S. Geological Survey. Schedule is weather permitting. Station is closed during precipitation or high winds, and may close early during very hot weather and open later if very cold. Location: We're back to our original location this year! Access to the Banding Station requires traveling ~1/3 of a mile on a fairly level, gravel trail. Seating is available at the Station. Please let us know if we can offer any accommodations or assistance to help you get to the Station. Instructions will be included in your confirmation email. Scholarships are available!
