About this event
Want a watercolor instructor who walks you through each step of how master watercolorists painted? Then this painting course is for you. By way of his approachable teaching style, Michael will guide you through the many layers of painting a master watercolor by demystify the steps of how the they actually created their paintings. The instructor will choose a master watercolor painting in each class and walk each student through multiple processes one step at a time to recreate the masterpiece. Six featured paintings will be created by the students in the duration of the course and each focusing on Color, Flat Wash. Graded Wash, Wet-into-Wet, Dry Brush, and Glazes techniques. Painting subjects will be chosen but not limited to Paul Klee, James Fitzgerald, John Singer Sargent, Charles Demuth, Charles Birchfield and William Turner. This course is designed for all levels of painting ability, especially for the beginner, with very short introductions and critiques, in favor of a guarded two hour block of watercolor painting time for each participant. Painting by studying the masters is one of the best ways to improve your own skills by developing a strong base for your own personal style. Come join the fun in this newly designed course!
