The award-winning documentary River of Gold takes audiences deep into Peru’s Amazon rainforest, following two war journalists and their guide as they uncover the devastating consequences of illicit gold mining. What begins with a destroyed forest can end in a jewelry case—or a cell phone—while the damage remains behind: poisoned rivers, threatened wildlife, devastated forests, and lives forever changed. Through extraordinary imagery and a story with global consequences, the film asks: What is the price of a planet? A forest? A river? A life?
