Harbor Light Driving School is a hybrid driver education program for students at Boothbay Region High School and surrounding communities. Each cohort will start with a 1.5 hour Zoom orientation with required parental involvement. This will go over program policies and state laws and regulations for earning a driver permit. There will be five 3-hour in-person classes, the first three classes will cover Chapters 1-6 of the AAA How to Drive, 15th edition slides, textbook, and workbook. The last two 3-hour in-person classes will cover the following topics: driving on the highway, route signs, traffic stops, one-way streets and practice questions from the Maine Motorist Handbook & Study Guide. Students will complete the 15-hour OnlineDriversEd.com on their own time and provide a certificate of completion before the permit test at the last class. The 10 hours behind-the-wheel instruction will follow the State of Maine requirements for each hour.
