About this event
What you'll be doing: We will be exploring the depths of Worley’s Cave on this first caving trip of the school year. This spacious cave is great for those new to caving and experts, alike! There are holes to investigate, mud pits to discover, and rivers to wade on this great daylong adventure. Join us for what is sure to be the journey of a lifetime. This trip is joint with our Avery chapter! Worley's Cave (also known as Morrill Cave) is located in Bluff City, TN and is a popular destination for many guiding companies, scouts, and individuals seeking an underground adventure. There are inherent risks associated with caving, but Mountain Alliance staff will take every step possible to reduce these risks including, but not limited to, giving safety briefs, teaching spotting, utilizing ropes as an extra aid in some areas, and monitoring students throughout the adventure. What to bring: - Clothes that can get DIRTY (the cave will be MUDDY) long sleeve shirt and pants are highly recommended - 2 Water Bottles - Sturdy shoes that can get muddy - Change of clothes (including shoes and socks) - Trash bag for muddy clothing - Towel for drying off/ changing behind - LUNCH - Small day bag that can get dirty (small drawstring bag is fine)
