Jewelry & Metalsmithing: The Art of Stone Setting
Instructor: Todd Michael
Have you ever wondered why some jewelry settings last a lifetime while others fail after
only a few years? The answer isn't luck. It's understanding the relationship between the
stone, the metal, the setting, and the person who will wear it.

Level 3 Jewelry Setting is a comprehensive hands-on course designed for those who
want to move beyond simply placing stones into jewelry and learn how to engineer
settings that are beautiful, durable, and serviceable.

In this course you will learn:

• Gemstone and diamond anatomy
• Metal behavior and its impact on setting design
• Prong, bezel, channel, flush, and shared-prong settings
• Stone protection strategies

Prerequisite: Must have completed Level 2 jewelry & metalsmithing classes
and have torch soldering experience.
