Painting & Mixed Media: Large Format Abstract Acrylic - Find Your Composition

This class invites you to paint on a larger scale than you may be used to, where bold gestures and open space become part of your visual language. We'll explore composition as the heart of abstraction — how shapes, color, and space come together to create paintings that feel alive. You'll build your paintings through layering, using viewfinders to discover compositions hiding within your own marks. Bring your curiosity to mark-making: brushes, palette knives, your hands, rags — anything that helps you leave a trace on the canvas.Drawing on automatism and automatic art-making, we'll quiet the inner critic and let intuition lead. The goal isn't a plan, but a process — one that opens the door to rich, emotional, and deeply personal imagery.

Whether new to abstraction or looking to loosen up your practice, you'll leave with a body of larger-scale work that's unmistakably your own. See you in the studio!
