Mixed Media Art: Grades 6 - 8Instructor: Anne Ritchie

In this 12-week Mixed Media class, students will experiment with a variety of creative materials and techniques to design bold, imaginative artwork that is uniquely their own. Students will combine paint, collage, drawing, textured materials, found objects and layered paper to explore color, composition and personal expression. Inspired by nature, pop culture, fantasy and contemporary artists, each project invites students to think creatively, take artistic risks and discover new ways to tell visual stories. Students will learn foundational art skills and enjoy the freedom of creating art that is playful, expressive and interesting.
