About this event
Aerial Yin Yoga is a grounded, restorative practice that invites you to slow down, breathe, and let go. Using fabric hammocks positioned close to the floor, this class focuses on holding supported poses for longer durations to gently encourage the body’s connective tissues to release, lengthen, and build resilience over time. Each class will guide you through stretches for the limbs and gentle spinal decompression, helping to relieve tension and create space throughout the body. The extended holds and the supportive nature of the hammock work together to coax the nervous system out of its active, ‘go-go-go’ state and into a quieter, more restful mode — something our busy lives rarely allow. No prior yoga or aerial experience is required. This class is open to all adults who are curious about a slower, more intentional movement practice. Please wear comfortable, stretchy workout clothing that fits close to the body. Avoid anything too loose or flowy — there will be opportunities to go upside down! Plan to remove shoes and socks before class. Leave jewelry at home — especially anything worn on the hands, wrists, or ankles — as it can snag on the hammock fabric. Registration closes at noon on 9/25. Vanessa Katon is a certified Aerial Yoga and Aerial Yin Yoga instructor whose passion for this practice runs as deep as the stillness it creates. Over the years, Aerial Yin Yoga in particular, has been a consistent source of joy and reset, offering her a rare invitation to slow down, be present, and move with quiet intention. She is excited to bring that same spirit of stillness and care to every class she teaches, creating an environment where students can find their own pause within the busy world.
