Build better communication with your dog through movement-based training, loose-leash walking, and real-world manners. Dogs must be at least 12 weeks old and up to date on current vaccines and all other dogs must show proof of a current rabies vaccine. PLEASE DO NOT LET DOGS PLAY OR GREET OTHERS UNTIL CLASS BEGINS TO ENSURE OPTIMAL AROUSAL STATE FOR TRAINING Strengthen your partnership with your dog by learning how to communicate through movement, body language, and positive, reward-based training. This class focuses on loose-leash walking, turns, stops, pace changes, recalls, impulse control, polite greetings, and staying calm around everyday distractions. You'll also learn to recognize your dog's body language, reduce stress, and confidently advocate for your dog's comfort in public settings. Designed for dogs who know the basics and are ready to build real-world skills, this fun, active class emphasizes teamwork, confidence, and practical success beyond the classroom. Please bring: Plenty of high-value treats (deli turkey and cheese work best!), waste bags, a flat buckle collar, martingale collar, or harness, comfortable walking shoes, and a towel for your dog's water dish (if moved inside). Homework and regular practice between classes are essential. CLASS WILL BE OUTSIDE BY THE ADULT EDUCATION OFFICE. Class Details: 6 classes (classes are one hour long).
