About this event
In this six-week watercolor course, students will focus on painting butterflies, insects, birds, animals, and other nature-inspired subjects while continuing to build foundational watercolor skills. Using a variety of photographic references, we’ll explore ways to paint texture, pattern, color, and movement while developing confidence with composition and layering. Students will practice traditional watercolor techniques including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, dry brush, lifting, glazing, and blending. We’ll also experiment with mark-making and detail work to help create expressive and dynamic paintings. This class is designed for students who want to strengthen their technical skills while exploring a wide range of fauna subjects in a relaxed and supportive environment. Prior beginner watercolor experience recommended.
