About this event
This class focuses on exploring the texture, depth, and layering potential that soft ground can bring about in an etching. Whether students consider themselves abstract, illustrative, or are searching for their etching style, all will be able to individualize their projects through experimentation with object and drawing impressions, and various printing techniques. Additionally, students are encouraged to get creative with the layering and layout of their proofs as well as utilize misprints and ghost prints to create visually interesting UAPs- in this class, no print is a mistake! Based on experience level, students can opt into various tutorials about paper and plate preparation, inking and wiping, chine-collé, à la poupée and viscosity roll techniques. This workshop is designed for both beginners and more experienced printmakers
